Genotypic evaluation of antimicrobial resistance in Staphylococcus spp. isolated from bovine clinical mastitis

ABSTRACT Bovine clinical mastitis caused by Staphylococcus spp. is a serious and widespread disease in the world of dairy farming. Antimicrobial therapy fundamental importance prevention treatment infectious mastitis, but indiscriminate use antimicrobials acts as determining factor for spread disease. The present study evaluated resistance profiles 57 isolated from bovine to beta-lactams gentamicin, relating characteristics phenotype (in vitro susceptibility tests) genotype (detection expression genes encoding - mecA, mecALGA251, blaZ, femA, femB, aacA-aphD using PCR RT-PCR, respectively). One or more coding different were detected 50 isolates. femA femB most frequent (75.4% both). observed was follows: blaZ (60%), (39.5%), (50%), (32.6%), mecA (8.3%), mecALGA251 (0%). Considering relevance genus this aimed elucidate aspects regarding genotypic phenotypic these microorganisms so contribute development effective strategies control.
